I’ve been working in the health and fitness industry for over 20 years and apply my training as a dietitian, personal trainer, and wellness coach to help you reach your health and performance goals. I use Functional Medicine, performance nutrition, fitness training, and coaching to guide our sessions together. Functional medicine is a medical model that looks for root causes to your symptoms and can also be used to optimize performance. Areas we address include nutritional deficiencies, toxins, genetics, infections, poor or inadequate sleep, high levels of stress, lack of movement, and overtraining. Through individualized nutrition, physical activity, supplementation (as needed), stress modulation, sleep training, and reducing environmental toxin exposure, you'll feel better. As a Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach, I partner with you to make lasting changes that support your values, your dreams, and your goals. Because you're an expert on yourself, we work TOGETHER to design ways to improve your health, wellness, and overall well-being.
I grew up an athlete, and was blessed with great health. When I was 32, I was bit by a tick and got Lyme Disease. This was a life changer. For the first time in my life, my body seemed to be failing me and I couldn't do whatever I wanted. I was tired, sick, and depressed. It was through my failing health that I discovered functional medicine and started on my road to recovery. I learned how to use food, sleep, modulate stress, and movement to support my healing and recover my health. I use functional medicine, performance nutrition, and exercise training as the basis of my practice.
I have a Master’s Degree in Nutrition and Food Science. I've worked as a Clinical Dietitian, a Diabetes Educator, a functional medicine nutritionist, and a performance specialist I've also taught several classes at the university level, including Nutrition, Upper Level Metabolism, and Sports Nutrition. I developed three doctorate level functional medicine classes for Huntington University of Health Sciences. I have co-authored three books and authored several journal articles on various topics. I'm a WellCoaches Board Certified Health and Wellbeing Coach, a National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) Certified Personal Trainer, and Certified Sports Nutritionist.
